I started carrying this Small Archaeo increasingly more in the last couple of weeks. This is a Knifecenter exclusive limited edition with raindrop Damascus blade steel and Pakkawood handle scales. It’s also the very first iteration of Artisan Cutlery’s Archaeo lineup that got fitted with a detent locking mechanism.

Our knife arrives in this white cardboard box and a canvas carry-pouch. And it has a super snappy action right from the start. This is probably the most unique thing about this folder. As on top of its detent lock, the Archaeo also has this proprietary locking pin that turns it into a fixed blade-like configuration.

Despite its 3-inch cutting edge, my small Archaeo weighs under two ounces - which makes it a very light EDC and thanks to its modified Wharncliffe blade style it also cuts really well. This unique combination of features makes the Archaeo one of my favorite gentlemen’s carry - and this knife is definitely a good candidate for any Christmas party.
