A Michigan state trooper is recovering after being wounded during a shootout that left a suspect dead.

The 51-year-old male suspect in has been pronounced dead after the incident in the 4800 block of Dixie Highway in Bridgeport.

A trooper was shot and suffered serious injuries, according to Grady. He was taken to Ascension St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw, where he was rushed into emergency surgery.
