After an uncomfortable call with Mary Jane Watson, while roaming the city, Peter Receives an urgent call from Otto Octavius inviting him to the lab for another test. Once in the lab, with Peter's help, Otto then tests the neural interface in tandem with his prosthetics with success.

When Otto has trouble removing the cap, he reveals to Peter that he is suffering from a degenerative neurological condition. He swears Peter to secrecy, and Peter learns that Otto may lose control of his motor functions within a year. Further examination of the lab reveals results of his lab tests, which indicate that using the cranial implant could also alter Otto's personality.
