5 Tipe to INCREASE Productivity and Feel LESS Burnt Out

Today I am going to give you 5 ways to increase your productivity so you can get more done in a shorter amount of time.
First, limit your distractions. This seems obvious, but how often are you in the middle of working, your phone goes off, and it completely takes you out of the zone. Or your phone buzzes from a social media notification and you spend the next five minutes scrolling instead of finishing the project you are working on? I know it happens to me more than it should. So once you start working, put your phone on “Do Not Disturb” so you can be more efficient and get more done.
Second, be intentional with your down time. Assuming a 40-hour work week, people only spend about 1/3rd of their life working. Most people just waste down time instead of maximizing it, so they never feel like they really get the down time. This leads to feeling burnt out. And when you feel burnt out, you aren’t going to be as productive at work as you could be. Instead, organize your down time like you do your work time. You will spend more time doing what you love, which will make feel like your work life balance is a lot more….well….balanced.
Third, use the 50 on 5 off rule. Once you start working on something, set a timer for 50 minutes. When that timer goes off, get up, stretch, talk to some co-workers, go for a walk. Just relax for 5 minutes. But DON’T check your email, scroll social media or check your text messages. Your goal is to check out. Not check in. I did this last week and it really helps break up the day. It’s hard to stay motivated for 8 hours straight. But if you only have to stay motivated for 50 minutes, that is a lot more manageable and mentally a hell of a lot easier. Never work more than 50 m minutes straight without taking a 5 minute rest. #work #motivation #livefree #productivity
