Las Vegas Boulevard crash leaves pedestrian with life-threatening injuries
A pedestrian in the south Las Vegas Valley is facing life-threatening injuries following a collision with a vehicle on Wednesday night. The incident occurred around 5:47 p.m. near the intersection of E. Pebble Rd. and S. Las Vegas Blvd., according to a spokesperson from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD). The pedestrian entered a travel lane and was struck by a single vehicle. Emergency services promptly transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment of their severe injuries.
The LVMPD Traffic Unit is actively investigating the crash at the scene. Fortunately, the driver involved in the incident did not sustain any injuries. As a result of the ongoing investigation, Las Vegas Blvd. has been closed in both directions between Pebble Road and Ford Ave. since 7:45 p.m.
Specific details about the pedestrian's condition have not been released at this time, and updates on the situation are pending. The LVMPD urges caution in the affected area as the investigation continues.
