The Axeman of New Orleans - The Castro Files #61
Beginning in 1918, the city of New Orleans was terrified that there was an Axeman roaming the streets randomly attacking people at night. Many men and women who were attacked were done so in their own homes with their own axes. The Axeman had one request, play jazz music specifically on March 19, 1919, night or else. The citizens were in such a panic that they would stay up all night playing the music to soothe the Axeman. Who was the Axeman of New Orleans?
