I bought a defective GoPro Hero 9 on eBay and this is what happened

A real YouTuber needs quality recording equipment and this includes a good quality action camera. In an effort to upgrade from my old generic one, I recently purchased a used GoPro Hero 9 Black on eBay. The condition was marked as “for parts or repair only” and “not working as intended”. When the price fell below a certain threshold, I decided to go for it.
But was this a good move? What about the additional costs I would incur to make this a functional camera?
