Imagine taking a casual stroll down a beach and notice a baby wild animal in distress? Would you take matter into your own hands or would you keep guard to make sure nothing bad happens to it? Because when this woman found a baby seal on her walk, she knew she can’t touch it, so she kept hoping that the little pup would make it on its own.

The woman noticed something large and white on the rocky shore. When she came closer, the white thing turned out to be a baby seal. Out in the open water, an adult was peeking out of the water, not making a sound. The baby, however, keeps crying out in distress.

The baby Harp seal looked very exhausted, probably not having enough strength to go back in the water, its natural habitat. The woman goes away and comes back later to find the baby in the shallows, but still not trying hard enough to swim away.

"Ok, sweety. You are just a baby seal. Oh, no. You go out honey. You go out" says the worried woman, not sure what she’s supposed to do.

Later that day she returns to the same spot again and sees the adult seal, which she believes to be the baby’s mom, still in the water. The adult doesn’t approach the beach, despite the baby’s cries.

The woman tries to coax the pup back to the water without touching it, as it is illegal to interfere with wildlife. The cute helpless seal seems to be trying to swim back to sea, but it is trapped in the shallow water.

Even though her intentions were noble, it is obvious that she couldn’t do anything to help this seal pup return into the waters. Instead, it would have been a far better idea to call the local wildlife rescue to save the animal.
