A village literally pulled together to rescue a stranded elephant stuck in mud using a JCB.
The 20-year-old bull elephant plodded into the slushy mud after getting startled by the sound of a train on nearby tracks.
The tusker was sinking fast so locals tied ropes around its head and legs, before looping them around a digger and heaving the elephant free.
