It’s been eight months since the start of the civil war in Sudan which has seen fighting between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
More than 12,000 people have died so far with many more injured.
On Monday, the Rapid Support Forces said they had entered the major city of Wad Madani - an area that is home to 86,000 displaced people who had fled the violence in the capital, Khartoum.
BBC News’s Analysis Editor Ros Atkins has looked into the latest developments of the conflict.
