Funeral Service for Gordon Jameson

Gordon Jameson, 94, of Earlville, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at OSF Saint Paul Medical Center in Mendota.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Freedom Lutheran Church with Pastor Dana Coyle officiating. Burial will follow at Freedom Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 until 10:30 a.m. at the Family Life Center, located behind the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.

Gordon was born on July 4, 1929 in Freedom Twp. to Freemont and Alma (Larson) Jameson. He was a farmer his entire life. Gordon was a veteran of the U.S Army and served in the Korean War. He married Ruth Elaine Hoge on August 4, 1956 in Morris. Gordon was a member of Freedom Lutheran Church, and served on the council for most of his life. He also served as a board member and past president of the Farm Bureau, and the LaSalle County F.S. He loved watching the Chicago White Sox.

He is survived by his three children, David (Robin) Jameson, of Walnut, Karla (Terry) Nelson, of Wausa, NE, Stephen (Melissa) Jameson, of Earlville; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Freemont and Alma; his wife, Ruth; a son, Philip Jameson; a sister Mavis Howey; and a brother Clarion Jameson.

Pallbearers will be Benjamin Jameson, Jacob Jameson, Daniel Jameson, Issac Jameson, Joseph Jameson, and Will Jacott.

Memorials may be directed to Freedom Lutheran Church or Jubilee Bible Camp.
