Why is Christ in Christmas? | Sol Invictus | Inside The Fatih Loop

I am asking this question from an honest perspective. Do we know why we observe Christmas day? Why do we observe the birth of Jesus on December 25th? The observance of the winter solstice has been around much longer than the Christmas tradition. We discussed the Roman form of this observance called Saturnalia, a month long feast to the Roman god Saturn. This feast was during the winter solstice, and we see similar ideas of our festivals at the same time of the month. The most compelling story about this argument between the church and the historians is Sol Invictus.
