Police get more than five hundred reports of spiking every month - on average, but just a fraction lead to charges - according to data from the Home Office. It's found that most of the claims come from women reporting incidents in and around bars and nightclubs.
The Government has just brought in new measures to crack down on spiking - so will that be enough to protect people?
Warning - distressing details in this report.
