Three Israeli hostages, Yotam Haim (28), Samer Talalka (22), and Alon Shamriz (26), tragically lost their lives in the Shejaiya neighborhood of Gaza City on Friday.

In a heartbreaking turn of events, the victims had resorted to using food to create signs pleading for help before being mistakenly shot dead by the IDF.

According to an Israeli official, the men emerged shirtless from a building, with one holding a white flag on a stick. Despite being tens of meters away and displaying no immediate threat, an IDF soldier perceived them as “terrorists” and opened fire.

Two of the hostages were fatally shot, while the third, wounded, returned to the building, the U.S. Sun reported.
