More than a decade after his death, Rob Pursley is still helping others. Basketball motivated Rob. He played at Sycamore and was a walk-on at Bellarmine University. This weekend, basketball teams will tip off for a scholarship fundraiser in honor of him. Rob was a young financial advisor and his parents' youngest son. He was shot and killed outside Mulligan's in Hyde Park. "The biggest fear a parent has, and I know I had, was people are going to forget Rob," his dad, Dan Pursley said. The family has been giving scholarships to Sycamore student-athletes for years, especially those who plan to walk-on in their sports, like Rob. Dan Pursley said the students' essays have helped them heal.
