Can Christians Reclaim Pagan Celebrations?

Question: Can you reclaim a pagan celebration in the name of God? Can you take the paganism out of it, rename it in the name of God and incorporate worship of the Holy God?
Isn't that what the Children of Israel did when they worshiped the Golden Calf? They had just been delivered from Egypt less than 3 months earlier, and Moses was on the mountain for 40 days, the Feast of Pentecost was coming so they took what they knew from Egypt which they learned over 400 years and made a golden calf and when Aaron saw it he said tomorrow is a feast unto YHWH.
Exodus 32:5
So when Aaron saw it [golden calf], he built an altar before it. And Aaron made a proclamation and said, “Tomorrow is a feast to YHWH.”
Israel learned this paganism from over 400 years of living in Egypt, this paganism was the only thing they really knew, and the intent of their heart was to worship YHWH. Needless to say, He wasn't pleased. If the root of the tree is pagan, the fruit of that tree is paganism regardless of what name you put on it. Come out of her My people.
