When asked if he'd like to play the upcoming royal wedding, singer Ed Sheeran gave an eyebrow-raising response. Reportedly, Sheeran expressed interest in performing for the royal couple on their wedding day and he will be waiting for the royals to give him a call.

The singer was at the Buckingham palace to receive the Member of the Order of the British Empire, i.e. the MBE award from Prince Charles for services to music and charity. This award was presented to Ed for his glittering musical career and charity work, with the accolade being given for outstanding achievement or service to the community.

A beaming Sheehan shook hands with the Prince of Wales and enjoyed a brief chat with him before taking to the grounds of the Queen’s home to show off his medal. However, when a reporter asked if he would play the nuptials, the 26-year-old responded ‘why not’. His song ‘Thinking out loud’ is a wedding favorite, so it would be perfect don’t you think?!

The pop star, who released his debut album in 2011, revealed that he would love to perform at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding reception. In addition, there were speculations in the media that Ed Sheeran surprisingly looked much alike Prince Harry. They are both members of the “redhead club” and are both recently engaged.

The royal family announced that Markle will marry Harry in a wedding ceremony in Windsor Castle on May 2018. The young couple will live in Nottingham Cottage, which is part of London’s Kensington Palace. So, do you think the royal couple will pick Ed Sheeran to perform at their wedding?
