Good King Wenceslas / Traditional Folk Song / Guitar and Vocal

Good King Wenceslas is a Traditional Folk Song and Christmas carol that tells the story of how a benevolent king invites a poor homeless person into his castle for dinner. I sing and play it on guitar, fingerpicking style in drop D tuning this time. One of my most favorite songs ever. Seems like I record and post another version every year for Christmas. I plan on posting a banjo version too in the coming months too. No laws says you can only sing Christmas songs at Christmas time. Merry Christmas everyone. Good King Wenceslas looked out
On the feast of Stephen,
When the snow lay round about,
Deep and crisp and even.
Brightly shone the moon that night,
Though the frost was cruel,
When a poor man came in sight,
Gathering winter fuel.

"Hither, page, and stand by me.
If thou know it telling:
Yonder peasant, who is he?
Where and what his dwelling?"
"Sire, he lives a good league hence,
Underneath the mountain,
Right against the forest fence
By Saint Agnes fountain."
