Godzilla Suit Actor Kenpachiro Satsuma Has Passed Away

Japanese actor Kenpachiro Satsuma, known for portraying monsters in Godzilla's Heisei era, has passed away at 76. Satsuma played various kaiju, including Godzilla, starting in 1971 with "Godzilla vs. Hedorah." Taking over the iconic role in 1984's "The Return of Godzilla," he continued until 1995's "Godzilla vs. Destroyah." Despite oxygen-related challenges, Satsuma contributed to the darker tone of Godzilla. Outside Godzilla, he appeared in films like "Pulgasari," directed by Shin Sang-ok under Kim Jong Il's regime. Satsuma's final roles were in 2001 and 2002. Our condolences to his family.
