December 17, 2023, Matthew 24:37-39, "Noah, A Master Ship Builder" (Live, No music)

Matthew 24:37-39, let us see how the Old Testament fits together with the New Testament, knowing that everything is Christo-centric, and everything points to Calvary.

Genesis 6:1-8,
. sons of God (lower case letter "s", and NOT upper case "S") were the fallen angels
. during the time of the breakdown of the godly line of Seth (to continue after Abel was murdered by Cain) and the spreading of Cain's bloodline, and the cultures declined due to sin
. God had a plan to defeat rampant sin
. God found grace in Noah, to secure him, his family, and God's creatures into the ark
. the ark was an image of salvation that was to come

1 Corinthians 1:30-31, "IN" Christ, just as those who were in the ark were "INSIDE" the ark
Genesis 7:16, God sealed the 8 people into the ark and shut the door, and this earnest act was similar to the eternal salvation of the believer
John 3:37, God's secure promise of salvation

1 Peter 3:21-22, the flood waters were an image of the of baptism
. side note oddity concerning a great flood from eternity past: today fossils of aquatic life are still being found at unusual elevations

Genesis 6:5, (past tense) the rampant sin way back then and declension, that gave birth to evil creatures (example: evil possessed men having intercourse with women, leading to the birth of more sin; in either direction, if the child was raised under sin, there would be more sin, or if the child was murdered/aborted there would still be more sin due to the acts of murder by the parents)
2 Timothy 3:1-7, (future tense) the sin that grows during the Church age

2 Peter 2:5, only 8 people were saved during the great flood, who did not conform to the evil world, and in faith stayed with God. Likewise, there are "few" today (compare to Revelation 7:9 and how God can achieve the impossible) who find the way to salvation.
Matthew 7:13-14, being the only entrance to the ark, the door of the ark was narrow. Likewise, the door to salvation today is narrow.

Genesis 6:3, God will not put up with sin forever
1 Peter 3:17-21, Revelation 20, Genesis 6:8, Jesus Christ found grace with His Father (see the landing of the Holy Spirit on Him), had faith in the word of God, preached it, and exercised it in the earth and also in it's lower depths (He first descended before He ascended, and the spirits could hear Him preaching, and then He proceeded to lead certain captives captive)

Hebrews 11:7, likewise Noah was determined, in faith, to follow God despite his evil neighbors, and the neighbors were like those in Sodom and Gomorrah. Noah did not tarry, and built the ark as God commanded, and the ark was finished just as God commanded it to be so. Then God secured Noah, the other 7, and the selected creation into the ark.

Genesis 8:1-20, the 2nd bird that flew back to Noah was a dove, and it came back with an olive branch; the fig tree was national Israel (wilted away by God) and the olive tree is spiritual Israel (which will be saved by God). Those who are of the olive tree (grafted into or native to it) are its branches.

Genesis 8:20-22, God affirmed that He and only He only sustained, sustains, and will sustain (until He does away with it for the 2nd Earth, etc., etc.) the world.

Genesis 8:20-22, Genesis 9:11-17, a new covenant with man, to set peace between God and man, the sign of the covenant with Noah being a rainbow, where God gives mercy (looking towards Calvary). Although man was sinful and deserved death for their sins, God had a plan, looking towards Calvary.

Isaiah 34:4, 2 Peter 3:10, (future tense) instead of a flood, a fire
Isaiah 34:4, 2 Peter 3:10, after the 1000 year reign and evil becomes loosened for a little while, it comes to tempt those who did not enjoy living under the 1000 year reign, they go to battle and lose (God wins), and then the world becomes completely burnt up. A new heaven (and also the new 3rd heaven) and earth will replace it

Hebrews 11:6-7, faith in God (who will surely accomplish His will) and the security that comes with it, if the believer continues in faith
