South Korea’s northern mountain areas were hit by heavy snow Friday, as local governments mobilized efforts to remove snow, local media reported.

Footage from Yonhap showed towns and mountains blanketed in a thick layer of snow while forklifts and snowplows were being used to remove snow on the roads. (Reuters)
