36th In our series the Epistle of 2nd Peter

I. Knowing the End Times Beforehand - 2 Peter 3:17-18
* A. What Peter has already taught about the Day of God - 2 Peter 3:12
* 1. This Day of God includes all the events leading up to the 7 years of Tribulation with its 3 sets of 7 judgments
* 2. It also includes the Glorious Millennial Kingdom, with the final battle with Satan
* 3. And concludes with the Great White Throne Judgment,
* 4. Destruction of this Universe and the Creation of the New Heavens and New Earth 
* B. Some would prefer not to know about any of these things, but the beloved of the Lord know these and watch for these things - 2 Peter 3:10

II. The Prudent Prepare in Advance - Proverbs 22:3
* A. Prepare for the onslaught of persecution - Revelation 13:7-9
* 1. Economic persecution - Revelation 13:15-17
* 2. Physical persecution - Revelation 6:9-11
* a. In war not all soldiers who go out, come back
* b. Those who die in battle will be greatly rewarded
* B. Peter wants us to beware of the temptation and testing of that day
* 1. Temptation to fall away from steadfastness in Christ
* 2. Temptation to be led away with the error of the wicked

III. The Answer is to Grow Now in preparation for Then - 2 Peter 3:18
* A. Grow in the Grace of our Lord and Savior
* 1. Receiving His Grace
* 2. Giving His Grace
* B. Grow in the Knowledge of our Lord and Savior
* 1. Know Him through His Word 
* 2. Know Him through Prayer
