A small plane burst into flames after a forced landing on Interstate 26 near Asheville, North Carolina, on Thursday, December 14, with the two people on board escaping with non-life-threatening injuries, according to local news. Footage recorded by Elki Soy shows the fiery wreckage of the small plane. Local media, citing the Federal Aviation Administration, said a single-engine Diamond DA-40 plane descended near Asheville Regional Airport at around 8:15 pm on Thursday. The North Carolina Department of Transportation started reopening freeway lanes as of Friday morning.
