12/14/2023 Firstpost: Washington has called 2023 a record year for US-Africa trade. The US has signed almost 550 new trade deals with the continent. The new deals are worth over $14 billion. However, African trade with North America was at about 5% in both exports and imports. It is compared to over 30% for Africa-Asia trade. Africa's main trading partner is China. Is Washington trying to make the continent a new battleground for its rivalry with China?
