Travelers Always Need an Escape Plan | Worry Less, But Prepare More

Vlog 8 December 2023 | Even when I lived in Texas, we had an #escapeplan. We knew if anything went wrong that we had "go" bags by the door, the car was fueled, our first trip would be to the Mexican border and from there on to Monterrey. We had Mexican cell phone service on every phone. We never had to use it, but it was a lot of comfort knowing that we all knew what to do and family knew where we'd be in case of an emergency. Now living with the safety and stability of Nicaragua might make the needs for such things less than before, but knowing how to get to each border crossing, knowing which one will take us and under what circumstances, knowing all the flights out of the region and so forth provides a lot of comfort now. You never know. No matter where you live, having the flexibility and foresight to be able to get out when necessary can be the difference between disaster and barely noticeing a problem.
