This captivating video was taken north of Fort St. John, BC, showcasing a moment of stark beauty and rugged endurance. It's 2 AM in the heart of a harsh winter night, and I stand encased in insulated overalls and coat, braving the elements. Behind me, a flare stack lights up the dark sky with its intense flames, casting a bold shadow towards the camera. In the distance, the night is further lit by two more flare stacks, each with their own 60-foot high flames, creating a dramatic and fiery spectacle. The scene is set against a backdrop of skid shacks, all under a fresh blanket of snow in the frigid -25 below weather. My hard hat and winter boots are the only hints of my presence in this dark, mysterious landscape, where the power of industry meets the unforgiving nature of the Canadian north.
