Creek Fire burning near Sylmar shuts down Highway 210 in both directions

Firefighters are battling a brush fire in Kagel Canyon near Sylmar and Lake View Terrace. Los Angeles County Fire Department officials confirmed the blaze has burned at least 4,000 acres and has no containment.  The blaze, named the Creek Fire, broke out at 3:42 Tuesday morning in the area of Gold Creek and Little Tujunga Canyon roads.Officials from Los Angeles City Fire, Los Angeles County Fire and the U.S. Forest Service all responded. Approximately 2,500 homes were evacuated and officials are reminding the community to evacuate immediately when they are told to leave.
