Twelve people were rescued after a cargo boat sank off the coast of the Dominican Republic on Wednesday, December 13, the US Coast Guard said.

Footage shows coast guard teams helping to save six people from the water, after a cruise liner pulled an initial six people from a raft.

Noticias SIN reported the boat belonged to a fishing company and was en route to Turks and Caicos when it went down.

“The weather conditions were less than ideal,” said coast guard copilot Jeb Slick. “Our crew’s outstanding work ethic and dedication to training led to the successful rescue of these survivors.”

All 12 of the boat’s crew members were “in good health,” and no others were missing, the coast guard said.
