Affordable Gift Ideas & Gingerbread Houses #12daysofchristmas

Merry Christmas!! On Day 1 we are making affordable gifts for family, friends and co-workers plus taking a look at gingerbread houses and Christmas decorations at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville NC.

Russian Tea Recipe:
2 cups sugar
2 cups orange drink mix powder (preferrably Tang)
1 cup instant tea powder
3 oz. lemonade drink mix powder (preferably Country Time)
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

Combine all ingredients together in a large mixing bowl and then transfer into glass containers with lids for gift giving. Be sure to put a tag on it so that the recipient will know to stir 3-4 heaping tablespoons of the mix into a mug of hot water to enjoy the wonderful spicy, fruity taste of Russian Tea.

Hot Chocolate Recipe:
1 tablespoon powdered sugar
1 tablespoon powdered milk
2 teaspoons cocoa
1 tablespoon powdered creamer
1 tablespoon chocolate chips
Mini Marshmallows (enough to fill to the top of the jar)
Candy Cane

Layer all of the ingredients in order (except for the candy cane) into a 8 oz glass jar with lid. Using a ribbon, tie the candy cane to the side of the jar along with a tag instructing the recipient to pour all of the contents of the jar into a mug of hot water to enjoy a rich, yummy, chocolatey drink. For a minty addition of flavor, they can stir their hot chocolate with the candy cane.
