The chief of the United Nations Agency for Palestine refugees (Unrwa), Philippe Lazzarini, described the situation in Gaza as “a living hell” during the Global Refugee Forum in Geneva, Switzerland.
He added: “It is unrealistic to think that people will remain resilient in the face of unlivable conditions of such magnitude.”
During the event, Filippo Grandi, the high commissioner for refugees, called for a ceasefire and expressed his concerns about an exodus of the Palestinians in Gaza towards neighbouring Egypt."
