The full meeting of the Fairfield County Commissioners' weekly meeting for December 12, 2023. This week's meeting was much longer than usual due to it being the last official scheduled public meeting of the year.
The meeting began with recognition of Vic Christopher's service on the Revolving Loan Fund Board and welcoming Linda Sheridan. https://www.fairfield33.com/RLF/
Next, was welcoming Mike Crites a candidate for appointment to the Law Library Board. https://cocll.ohio.gov/resources/finder/fairfield-county
There was then a Listen & Learn session with Buckeye Lake Region Corporation Executive Director, Mike Fornataro.
Public Comments began at 1:01:00 with Ray and Judy Stemen sharing time. Ray opened with a Christian prayer for the county administration and workers. Judy shared several articles ranging from studies showing conservative parents raise better adjusted children to reports of adolescents suffering heart damage from taking the Moderna COVID-19 jab.
Next, Jeff Williamson of Greenfield Township spoke about an email he sent to the commissioners regarding the resolution by the township to make it an exclusionary zone for industrial solar development and what the status of that resolution is before the commissioners.
Sherry Pymer of Walnut Township spoke in opposition to industrial solar and reminded the commissioners of billionaire Bill Gates' involvement under the guise of making agriculture more efficient. https://citizensforfairfields.org/
Non-resident and paid activist, Nick Bundren of the Land & Liberty Coalition spoke once again in favor of industrial solar based on the property rights argument. https://www.landandlibertycoalition.com/
Breaking from the norm, Commissioner Steve addressed the solar issue in broad terms and what the commissioners are doing under advice of legal counsel at the conclusion of public comments at 1:25:00.
The remainder of the meeting were items related to the regular County Administrative Update(s) and the commission's "voting pattern" with a large number of resolutions due to year end.
