In this exciting episode, my pastor and I discussed the topic of forgiveness; mercy, the burden of a grudge, stories of redemption, and that stewardship plays into the balance of this.

Matthew 18:35
35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

As you can see from that passage, this is a heaven or hell issue!

How about balance?
-There is the stewardship aspect:
Do I take what God has placed into my hands and continue to place it in the hands of them who have broken trust? Obviously not. That would make me a bad steward of what God is placing into my hand.
For example, someone threatened the safety of my wife and son. I have forgiven them. But as the goodman of the house, I cannot allow what God has placed into my care to be put in danger again.
ā€” I think some people will continue to place their hearts and stewardship in the hands of those who have broken trust over and over again, I think they do that, because they enjoy the sinful pleasure of unforgiveness. They wonā€™t remove that Sub stewardship from the people who keep breaking that trust because they so much enjoy holding a grudge.
-God gives us a whole lot of stewardship; our calling, our election, our family, our circle of friends, our time..
However, when it comes to vengeance: God said ā€œVengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.ā€!
So avenge not yourselves!

Romans 12:19-21
19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

So ā€œlay aside every weight and sinā€. Forgive and let it go.
