Moment skier triggers avalanche

This is the terrifying moment a skier triggered an avalanche which barrelled down the mountain, taking him with it. Dominic Torro was skiing down ‘Airplane Gully’ on Mount Washington, New Hampshire, named after a 1959 plane crash, when footage from his GoPro shows him being engulfed in a huge cloud of snow. For a few seconds only snow can be seen before Torro comes to an abrupt stop.

Luckily other skiers rushed to his aid, digging out the snow around him while they waited for help. He was flown to the hospital. His current condition is not yet known, but he reportedly sustained a serious leg injury in the accident.
