New Details in Fights at High School

There were 2 physical fights between students at ELCHS on Wednesday: · The first was at 10:09am during a class change and involved 5 students. It concerned social media posts. All students have been disciplined per the student code of conduct, one was arrested. · The second fight was at 12:08pm also during a class change. One student pushed another, they got into a physical fight and were arrested. Four other students were arrested because they refused to obey rules being given to them by law enforcement and administration. All have been disciplined. Neither of the fights were related, and they both lasted less than a minute. In addition, there were 2 verbal altercations: · One was at 9:20am between two students. During that altercation two staff members intervened in order to keep the students apart and sustained minor injuries. One returned to school yesterday, the other today. · The second verbal altercation was at 10:29am, also between 2 students. As one of the students was being escorted to the main office she fought with the SRO which resulted in an arrest for Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer.
