Nearly 20% of Hollywood Laid Off Due to Strike

The WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes that shutdown Hollywood for over half a year may have been a Pyrrhic victory for the unions.

A new study has shown nearly 20% of the workers in the Hollywood industry were laid off as a result of the strikes. The majority of the people who lost their job were writers, but down the line workers like camera operators and editors are also out of work as a result of the industry shutdown. These workers don’t benefit from the strike and things are going to be a lot worse with an industry that’s downsizing.
