Cheap PlayStation 2 HDMI solution with comparison | PS2 TO HDMI vs. AV2HDMI

It's always hard to hook up an old game console to a modern TV. This is especially true with older 3D game consoles such as the PS2. Over the years there have been many mods that most of the time provide HDMI. These are expensive and often require the user to solder them in themselves.
The only remaining option remaining then (besides emulation ofc.) is to use the existing AV out port. This often leads to products such as these AV2HDMI boxes one can plug the AV cables into and the result is ok, however a while ago I got my hands on a so called "PS2 TO HDMI".
