Who Is Responsible For My Slip and Fall Injuries?
Chicago slip and fall lawyer

In this video, Chicago slip and fall attorney Scott DeSalvo reveals the three most common culprits when you fall on someone else’s property. These three are the most common Defendant in ‘premises liability’ cases — meaning slip and fall and trip and fall cases.

First, property owners, also known as landlords. Under Illinois law, they have a duty to keep their property in a reasonably safe condition.

Second, property owners. In big buildings, owners often ask property managers to handle the day-to-day operations, so they have a duty to keep the property in reasonable shape in order to avoid falls.

Third, did a third party do repairs? Do other work? Store materials? Damage the property? Leave a puddle of oil or water? Third parties who are not the owner or manager often cause conditions that result in a fall-down case.

The main thing is to do a good investigation to try to find everyone. Lawyers are pretty good at doing that.
