In the federal 2020 election interference case, special counsel Jack Smith intends to utilize data from the former President Trump’s White House cell phone, according to a court filing on Monday.

Smith plans to present an expert witness who has successfully “extracted and processed data” from both the former president’s phone and another undisclosed individual’s device.

This expert witness will analyze the usage patterns of these phones during the post-2020 election period, including activities around January 6, 2021, which encompasses the time when the Twitter app was active on Trump’s phone on the day of the Capitol riot, Axios reported.
