Zelensky makes plea for Ukraine war funds in Washington

On Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy is set to make a final appeal to U.S. lawmakers, seeking their continued military support in the face of the ongoing conflict with Russia.

During visits to the White House and Capitol Hill, Zelenskiy will address the pressing needs of his country, including a significant loss of life, a widening budget deficit, and Russian advancements in the eastern regions.

His primary objective is to urge U.S. lawmakers to allocate additional funds to replenish the nearly exhausted resources, with a subsequent meeting scheduled with President Joe Biden.

“If there’s anyone inspired by unresolved issues on Capitol Hill, it’s just (Russian President Vladimir) Putin and his sick clique,” Zelenskiy said at a speech in Washington on Monday, Reuters reported.
