She Had to Escape from Texas to Save Her Own Life
Kate Cox, a 31-year-old mother from Dallas, Texas, became a significant figure in the abortion rights debate.
Pregnant with a fetus diagnosed with trisomy 18, a condition leading to high chances of miscarriage or stillbirth, Cox sought court approval to terminate her pregnancy.
This case emerged as the first of its kind since the historical overturning of Roe v. Wade.
Despite initially receiving permission from a state judge, the Texas Supreme Court halted the decision.
Facing health risks and repeated emergency visits, Cox left Texas to undergo the abortion elsewhere, underscoring the significant challenges in states with stringent abortion laws.
What do you think? Should Ms. Cox be allowed to have an abortion?
