Hanukkah, Maccabees Vs Antiochus Epiphanes, the End Times, God Wins

The book of Maccabees gives us a good idea of what the reign of the Antichrist will be like. Antiochus Epiphanes conquers Israel and Judah and slowly perverts the Jewish religion and society with his religion. Then, Antiochus Epiphanes goes into the Second Temple in Jerusalem and declares himself God Almighty, the Abomination that makes desolate. He is a forerunner of the beast of the End times. We can more fully understand how the evil Antichrist takes power and destroys the faithful by reading Maccabees. We can also appreciate the importance of Hanukkah and why we should all threat these holy days of celebration with great respect. Judas and Jonathan Maccabees heroism, the heroism of Lazarus and the heroism of the Widow and her seven sons should always be venerated.
