While accusing Donald Trump of being just like Hitler and Mussolini because he put “children in cages,” Joe Biden’s surrogates are putting children in those same “cages” and hiding the soaring numbers of migrant deaths under Biden.

Prompted by MSNBC’s Alex Wagner, Biden campaign official Quentin Fulks claimed Donald Trump is “on the level of Hitler and Mussolini.”

The “cages” used by the Trump administration to temporarily hold unauthorized immigrant children were built and used by the Obama administration.

When Trump became president in 2017, elected Democrats and celebrities began raging about these facilities while posting photos from the Associated Press of children “in cages.”

The Associated Press itself reported that its photos “were from 2014, during the Obama administration, but were presented by liberal activists as if they showed the effects of Trump’s immigration policy now.”

Nevertheless, Democrats have continued to spread the claim that these facilities were an inhumane policy of Trump.

Border crossing deaths were lower under Trump than any president for as far back as data extends, and they have been much higher under Joe Biden than ever recorded.

The Biden administration has refused to release data on border crossing deaths to the public, but federal employees have leaked it to the press.

The Biden administration has adopted a policy of not recording border crossing deaths in cases where the federal government isn’t the first entity to discover the dead bodies.

Email from Customs and Border Protection (CPB) to Just Facts, December 6, 2022: “Ultimately, CBP and the Appropriations Committee reached an agreement to use the existing statutory definition of an in-custody death when categorizing incidents to meet these new reporting requirements.”

Federal law states, “The Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection shall submit a report to the appropriate committees of Congress regarding all unidentified remains discovered, during the reporting period, on or near the border between the United States and Mexico.”

On December 10, 2022, Just Facts wrote to the Biden administration’s CPB, “How does CPB justify excluding “not-in-custody” deaths from the total count of migrant deaths given the following requirements of the Missing Persons and Unidentified Remains Act (Public Law 116-277)?”
