Dr. Michael Schwartz: How Bad is China’s Pneumonia Outbreak in Children?
Reports of a "mysterious" pneumonia outbreak in children in China have ignited concerns about a new pandemic. Dr. Michael Schwartz advises parents to defy fear and remain calm, asserting that mycoplasma pneumoniae, the identified bacteria behind the surge, is well-known and treatable. Talking about the seasonal surges of respiratory infections and the challenge of distinguishing them from bioterrorist threats, the doctor emphasized the importance of proper testing to determine the specific pathogens affecting people.
In an interview with The New American, Dr. Schwartz draws lessons from the Covid pandemic, applying them to the current pneumonia outbreaks in China and the reported "white lung syndrome" cases in Ohio and Massachusetts. He highlights the robust nature of children's immune systems and advocates for well-established methods to strengthen them during the winter season. While the CDC recommends vaccinations for Covid, flu, and RSV, Dr. Schwartz disagrees, citing an unfavorable risk-benefit ratio of the shots, their poor effectiveness, as well as the treatability of seasonal respiratory diseases. Much like Covid could be effectively managed, any new infectious outbreak can be, too, if people don’t fall for fearmongering.
Addressing speculations about the infectious agent behind the Chinese outbreak being potentially a bioweapon, Dr. Schwartz maintains that there is currently no evidence to support such claims. He underscores the modern technological capabilities of medical testing and diagnostics, emphasizing their high accuracy and reliability.
Additionally, Dr. Schwartz assesses the possibility of “white lung syndrome” being a side effect of Covid vaccinations.
Dr. Michael Schwartz is the author of Fauci’s Fiction: The Book on Covid.
