Illinois Teacher Suggests Ditching 'Boy' And 'Girl' To Include Kids Who Don't 'Identify' As Either

When teaching small children in a classroom setting, it’s important to always refer to little boys as little girls if that is, in fact, their preference. Likewise, one should always refer to little girls as little boys, if that better aligns with the child’s “gender identity.” Actually, scratch all that - perhaps you just shouldn’t use the terms “boys” or “girls” at all, in deference to those children who might not identify as either, or who think they’re somewhere in between.

At least that’s according to one Illinois public school teacher, who goes by “Nathan Lyon He/Him” and posts “advice” to other educators over on social media on how to avoid stepping on little kids’ preferred pronouns and self-expression. In a video posted to TikTok, Lyon advises “assessing your language” when it comes to teachers referring to their class - all while sporting a rainbow-spangled “Support LGBTQ+” t-shirt, of course.
