Qubyte Classics: Beatemup Archives | Budget Arcade Games
Hello Im Skill Incarnate and Welcome to My Games Review Series.
My reviews cover indie games that i have bought, had gifted to me and have been provided by developers for review. In this episode I check out the latest Retro Game Collection from Qubyte with their Qubyte Classics: Beatemup Archives. The Beatemup Archive contains a port of Iron Commando and Legend, which were released on the Super Nintendo and Japanese Famicom in 1994 and 1995. Both games are restored with
updated graphics along with some modern touches like graphics filters and save slots.
Legend is set in a fantasy world, with the player controlling a band of knights on a mission to stop an evil warlord. Iron Commando takes place in a more modern setting, with the player controlling the Iron Commandos, Jake and Chang Li, who are on a mission to stop a terrorist Organisation called GHOST. Both games provide a classic beatemup experience for one or two players.
Unfortunately the game suffers from a number of issues, such as severe balance issues, performance issues, and a difficulty that is eye watering, even for arcade game veterans like myself. While these issues were inherent in the original game, it makes these games extremely difficult to play. For this reason, I recommend looking at Qubytes other Retro Game remasters like Zero Tolerance, Gourmet Warriors and the VICSO Collection
Please note: All opinions in this video are my own. Game was provided by the developer for review purposes

================================================
Beat ‘Em Up Archives (QUByte Classics) is a collection of two beat ‘em up classic games: Iron Commando and Legend both released in the 90’.
In Iron Commando you’ll take control of either Jake, a soldier, or Chang Li, a martial arts master, in your quest to stop G.H.O.S.T. from capturing a radioactive meteorite in a brawling action.
Legend is an arcade-style side-scrolling beat 'em up game where players take control of Kaor and Igor through seven stages in total of varying thematic sets in the kingdom of Sellech, with the main objective being defeating the corrupt son of the land's king, Clovis.
