Michigan Residents Have One Week Left To Purchase Medical Coverage

Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) Director Anita Fox is reminding Michigan residents who need health insurance to purchase a Health Insurance Marketplace plan by December 15, 2023 so that their coverage can start January 1, 2024.

Residents can still enroll until January 15, 2024, but plans selected after December 15 will not provide coverage until February 1, 2024.

Nearly 140,000 Michigan residents have already enrolled during this year’s Marketplace open enrollment period, an increase of almost 25% over this time last year.
