Hamas on December 8 claimed that it had foiled an operation of the Israel Defense Forces to rescue hostages held in Gaza. Hamas said that an attempt by IDF to rescue soldier Saar Baruch had resulted in the latter's death. Hamas said that many Israeli soldiers part of the rescue team also died. The IDF confirmed that it had undertaken a rescue operation but did not reveal for whom. The Israel military said that two of its soldiers were severely injured, and that no hostages could be rescued as part of the mission. Watch the full video for more
