When I Cross the Last River

Down here, as we travel o'er city, o'er country
Just working for Jesus, our King
We often cross so many rivers
The truth of God's Word to bring

But soon, I shall cross my last river
And the Savior's smiling face, I shall see
I'll cross it to live there forever
In the place He has prepared for me

When I cross the last river down here
I won't have any evil to fear
Oh, the river be deep and so wide
My Savior will be by my side

Now when we come to the end of life's troublesome journey
And our work here on earth is all done
When we come to that place where we cross our last river
On the banks of Old Jordan, we'll stand
Then our Savior will come to our rescue
He's promised He'd go all the way

He'll guide us o'er the river so gently and safely
And will lead us to that beautiful shore...

When I cross the last river down here
