Advent: First Step Toward Life with Christ is Repentance - December 10, 2023 - OLC Sunday Homily

In the the homily for the Second Sunday of Advent (Dec 10, 2023), Fr. Alan explains that to reach the end we desire--immortal life with Christ--the first step is repentance--turning away from sin.

Jesus, the Messiah, proclaimed from the very beginning of his ministry: "Repent and believe in the Gospel" (Mark 1:15).

St. Peter in his letter tells us not to think that God has delayed his promise, but that he is patiently waiting for us to repent, before all is consumed in fire. Since we don't know when that will be, the time to repent is now, if only to avoid perdition. A better motive is to imitate Christ and his holy disciples, of whom Mary is the greatest, and the one in whom the Lord delights. Let us seek refuge in her Immaculate Heart, the way to God.
