The US is breaching the UN Charter by blocking a Gaza ceasefire!

The US appears to be violating Articles of the UN Charter by consistently using it's veto to block a ceasefire. Here's why.
Right, so last night, following the triggering of Article 99 by Secretary General of the UN Antonio Guterres, the UN Security Council met once more to pass a resolution for a ceasefire under the terms of the UN Charter, which is effectively an international treaty, and therefore all member starts, Israel included, would have to abide by that and the killing would cease in Gaza, the slaughter would stop.
As we have seen in previous attempts to pass a resolution here though, the United States used it’s permanent council member status to veto it, meaning the slaughter continues. The resolution fell, despite 13 of the 15 Security Council member states backing it, which is just so twisted, as is the fact the UK chose once again, to sit on the fence and get splinters, abstaining on the matter of ending the slaughter of thousands of innocent men, women and children for the sake of taking out a few Hamas operatives, a price Israel consider worth paying but the rest of the world do not, except it seems for the US, so what can be done about them? Well actually, it seems the UN might have mechanisms in place to do just that. If Joe Biden’s administration won’t vote to end the killing, then they need removing from the Security Council, but how?
Right, so it was as predictable as it was soul destroying to see, as that US Security Council representative raised his hand into the air and an immediate ceasefire failed once again. With Article 99 having been triggered, this onus, the pressure was on the Security Council to reach a resolution on this to end the killing in Gaza, but nothing really changed. This was all about stopping the killing in Gaza, October 7th seems so long ago now, the fatalities that happened in Israel that sparked all of this, now a distant memory due to the overwhelmingly disproportionate response from Israel in Gaza, which is amounting to ethnic cleansing at this point and when you consider so many eyewitnesses to the Israel attack on the Nova Music Festival and the southern kibbutzes claim many of the deaths that occurred there were at Israeli hands, so called Hannibal Directives, it makes what they are doing in Gaza all the more perverse when it seems they had a hand in the killing of their own people, justifying what they are still doing now.
The US again opposed this resolution, because, and do remember this is all about what is happening in Gaza right now, the pressure of Article 99 being triggered weighing on them to do their job, they opposed it, because just as before, there was no criticism of Hamas in it. Whatever you think of Hamas and what they did and do condemn that, an occupied state as Gaza is, resisting occupation is their right under international law and the US rightfully I feel is now at the point where it is complicit in war crimes by consistently blocking a ceasefire. We are never going to get peace for as long as Joe Biden resolutely stands by Israel and for a man who has backed them to the hilt for decades, as the US’s foot in the Middle East, the tactical advantage for the US that Israel offers there, he’s not likely to do that.Show more
